Congratulations! You have been selected to participate in the Ontario/Baden-Württemberg Exchange Program (OBW), a collaborative initiative of the universities and governments of two jurisdictions. The exchange is a personal opportunity for you to pursue your studies at one of the participating universities in Ontario or Baden-Württemberg, and to grow from the experience of living in a foreign culture. It is also an opportunity to enrich the knowledge base and culture of your home and host universities and the people and societies of Ontario and Baden-Württemberg.

The OBW Program staff look forward to helping you prepare for and fully enjoy your exchange experience. We will do everything we can to ensure that you have the time of your life. We will not run your lives, but we are there to assist you in any (reasonable!) way possible. Please feel free to contact us at our offices in Toronto and Konstanz if you have any questions. For Baden-Württemberg and Ontario participants in the long-stay OBW Exchange Program ("OBW Classic") there are orientation sessions in the spring to help you prepare for living and studying in the different educational system and culture of your host region. These are great opportunities to meet the other OBW students from your region who will be on exchange at the same time as you. Where possible we will also have OBW alumni at the session to provide advice to the new participants. For Ontario participants the session takes place in May in Toronto. For Baden-Württemberg participants the "Info-Seminar" takes place in Bad Herrenalb (near Karlsruhe), also usually in May. We strongly encourage all students to attend these events. We also organize events at the beginning of the academic year in Toronto and Konstanz to help get things off to a good start!
