Baden-Württemberg Students

Welcome to the OBW Student Exchange Program!

As an exchange student, you are expected to engage in full-time, NON-DEGREE, study at your host university for a maximum of one academic year. You are responsible for all aspects of your participation in the Program, including, but not limited to, your health, safety, lodging, course selection, study program, travel plans, legal status and financial obligations.

In order to assist you in preparing for your exchange adventure, a pre-departure OBW Orientation Workshop takes place in Bad Herrenalb (Schwarzwald), June 8-9, 2017 (for 2017-2018 participants). An important aspect of this workshop is the opportunity to meet your fellow OBW students from all around Baden-Württemberg, as well as alumni who can share their experience with you. Attendance at this workshop is not mandatory but all participants are strongly encouraged to participate.

You are also invited to attend an OBW Welcome and Orientation event in Toronto, August 21-23, 2017. It is coordinated with similar orientations for overseas students who are participating with Ontario's three other region-to-region exchange programs, so it is an opportunity not only to see the whole Baden-Württemberg group again but also to meet the students from China, France, and India who are coming to Ontario for the year. Information on the August event will be posted here in the course of the summer.

While on exchange, we ask you to remember that as OBW participants you are assuming the responsibility of being an ambassador for the OBW Program, for your home university, and for the Land Baden-Württemberg.

We wish you the most fulfilling, interesting, and enjoyable time possible while you are on exchange in Ontario!
